We call it The Edge of Liberty, because it is indeed on the edge of Liberty Township, Indiana and it’s pretty much where the city sidewalk ends and rural America begins
Northwest corner of Calumet and 600 N...the place with the bible verse sign that’s been there since before any of us were born on one corner...and a graveyard from the late 19th century on the other corner
We loved the rural feeling of this area so much that we bought an abandoned farm just to stop it from getting it rezoned to build a women's health center...so we're just a little bit crazy and that's just the sort of thing that makes this area awesome!
We want this web site and this farm to be about celebrating life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We want to share this location with health, education, and life-focused organizations; artists; crafters; musicians; organic gardening enthusiasts; freedom-loving groups; and anyone who wants to pursue a little bit of unfettered happiness on a sunny afternoon.
This isn't a full time business (yet), it's a labor of love in our spare time. Keep an eye on this site for new blog posts about events and services as they become available. We have big dreams about hosting acoustic music events, arts and crafts festivals, tail-gating/bonfire community parties, outdoor wedding ceremonies, farmer's markets, and maybe some day building an off-grid green-energy cabin for vacation rental.
We're hard working people but managing events takes time and talent that we might not have...and since we bought this place to help our community stay rural, we're going to need the power of community to keep it going.
