Edge of Liberty Craft Fair - July 17, 2022
Happy anniversary to us! We've come so far in just one year and this event will be a celebration of the resilience of this community.
After surviving the Porter County Master Gardener's Garden Walk in June last year, we decided to start a monthly event, inviting crafters to set up tents along side our farm stand, giving walking tours of our property and gardens, and trying to bring that festival feeling into our community. Just another one of those crazy ideas from the folks at BCF.
And it sure has been a crazy ride. Only four vendors and a few dozen customers decided to take a chance on us at that first event. We got frustrated and discouraged but we kept pushing through with the support of a wonderful community of people who believed in us. We've been growing and improving every month ever since. We've tripled our parking lot space, expanded to a little over two miles of beautiful walking trails, and more than quadrupled the number of vendors who want to be part of this experience. All we need to keep growing is for you to be part of this - tell your friends and family!
This is our third Craft Fair for the 2022 season, and I can tell already that it's going to be even better than the last one. This is a great opportunity to support your entrepreneurial neighbors and invest in our community. Tell your friends to meet you here. Enjoy lunch from our featured food truck at our picnic tables near the pond where ducks, geese, sandhill cranes, and eagles have been lunching all spring. Tour our perennial pollinator garden, our market garden, and see what your neighbors have done with their plots so far in our community garden.
We have some new vendors with amazing products to create happiness in your home. Come celebrate life with us!
Where are you? We're conveniently located on old 49 (Calumet) a mile north of Valparaiso and a mile south of the drive-in theater, right on the edge of Liberty Township.
What crafts will be available? Click the link to see a slideshow of products available at this and prior events. Committed vendors for this event and information about their products are detailed below with links to their personal pages.
All vendors either accept credit cards personally, or can accept payments through our "Pay With Paypal" button on our home page, but would prefer cash.
We're looking for home-based vendors selling products they make themselves who live in Porter county (or northern Jasper, western LaPorte). Fill out this form to sign up! Reminder that the New Law goes into effect on July 1 so we can now accept applications from those who sell non-potentially hazardous foods with a copy of food handler certification on file.

About Us
The Edge of Liberty is a four acre farm that we purchased because the neighborhoods surrounding it wanted to preserve the rural feeling of Liberty Township and stop it from being developed. Since it was a community effort to keep it rural, we want the community to get a chance to enjoy it...together! Events and services at The Edge of Liberty are centered around creating and maintaining a sense of community and preserving that hometown rural feeling that made us all fall in love with this area. In addition to the community garden that we started last season and a weekly farm stand of produce grown in our market and pollinator gardens to help defray costs of maintaining the property, we're providing this monthly outlet for members of the community to sell their handmade goods and to give you an opportunity to share good times with friends and neighbors.
Help us celebrate life and create happiness! See you on Sunday, July 17!
